The creations presented of this page have one thing in common: I made them out fabrics that already served a purpose. When my designs are based on existing garments, I start with what's good about the original and take it from there. I let the materials speak. Most of what I've made out of recycled fabrics are ready-to-wear clothes, but given the opportunity I also love to experiment and go wild.
The use of recycled materials is always an environmentally friendly choice. When your wardrobe needs an update, perhaps its contents are already enough to create something totally new out of something old! In the past I've worked with the London-based charity and textile recycling organisation TRAID, nowadays I'm very pleased to take custom orders and create unique pieces for my clients. Golden oldies from my student days
This dress used to be an old white pillow case. Its corners gave the inspiration to the design. By creative use of boning and embellishments, draping the bodice and dyeing everything with tea, the result became an avant garde dress with accentuated shoulders.
Various different materials, some from TRAID in London. This design was inspired by the London City Hall.
